Fight with Johnson

edit

It says Finnegan started a fight with Johnson and lost. The "and lost" part should be removed because there really is no evidence either one actually won this altercation. It was broken up immediately after the first punch was thrown, and no one was knocked out or anything like that. Actually he was punched three times in the head and assumed a standing protective fetal position. I believe that constitutes a "loss." The player had lost the ability to defend himself intelligently. Even by UFC standards he lost —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.234.212.145 (talk) 01:04, 29 November 2010 (UTC) He was on the ground getting pounded. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.200.200.105 (talk) 01:17, 29 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

I removed the "and lost" part, added more information, and included information about Finnegan's past fines.Athene cunicularia (talk) 01:49, 29 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

DUI?

edit

I searched online but could not find any reliable websites that mention Finnegan getting a DUI. Titansfan7532 (talk) 04:55, 24 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

It was reported on 2006-06-28 in the The Tennessean. But since you can't find it through google anymore, it never happened. Its moments like this that I really appreciate the power of Wikipedia to rewrite history and erase events. 174.46.28.58 (talk) 19:13, 30 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Or you could take a few seconds and use google news archive to find a source and insert the content http://news.google.com/archivesearch?q=cortland+finnegan+dui --CutOffTies (talk) 19:35, 30 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
No. I'm too busy reading the newest "personal appeal". Kartika is simply facinating. 174.46.28.58 (talk) 21:18, 30 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Keith Bulluck

edit

Will there be a mention of the incident between Finnegan and teammate Bulluck? 96.237.63.234 (talk) 18:20, 7 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Not unless there is a reliable source for it. - Mdsummermsw (talk) 17:51, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
It was covered at the time through in Sports Illustrated, the sporting News, local newspapers, local television and so on. But if you can't find it through google or if only happened in print, it didn't happen.
Of course if I were to say that on October 5, 2008 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, MD that Bulluck shoved Finnegan with both hands and then had to be seperated from him by other team-mates, that would be original research which has no place in Wikipedia. 174.46.28.58 (talk) 19:23, 30 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

No. I think the consensus is that the article should never be improved. Its generally useless nature and lack of any useful content is not something that I would tamper with. Perhaps by 2015 we will have a consensus on these issues from 2008. 174.46.28.58 (talk) 21:22, 30 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Language

edit

Third paragraph under Pro Career. Switches from past to present tense, but is referring to past events. "has been making plays left and right". I'm no good at this sort of thing, but someone please clean up this language. It's less than professional sounding. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.88.168.35 (talk) 01:18, 20 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Is Finnegan multiracial? Just wondering.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.170.24.218 (talk) 20:54, 2 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

I removed the category LGBT athletes because it is a red link inserted by an IP user that is probably just vandalism. Please feel free to re-add it if this is verifiable.--Greenmango (talk) 04:51, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

It would probably be easier if we just did one to ESPN or Pro-Football-Reference, since each of the current ones are his career to date.--MattyMetalFan (talk) 15:53, 22 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
