Notability
editDoes this author have enough notability to have an encyclopedia article? Jed 20012 (talk) 23:25, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
I believe so. Silverberg may be less famous in the United States, but he is well known and well regarded in Canadian sex education circles and disability communities. He's been a consultant on SexTV, Talk Sex with Sue Johanson [1], and was a founding member of Come As You Are [2]. I believe he is on the board of ISIS and AASECT. He's less notable as an author - only two books published - but is extremely well known and highly regarded in sex education circles in Canada and the USA. He's also had a substantial amount of media coverage in both of Canada's national newspapers.[3] Canadaworker (talk) 00:13, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
- This bio is really deficient. Cory Silverberg is known outside of Canada and, more importantly, is transmaculine (uses they/them pronouns). This NYT article may be helpful to someone who wants to revise this entry: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/06/28/magazine/sex-ed-books-teens-parents.html 2001:56A:F979:2A00:E8FF:B7CF:CC0D:5BC (talk) 16:57, 28 June 2022 (UTC)
- Not trans masculine, identifies as "gender variant" or possibly trans masculine. I'll update pronouns now. Canadaworker (talk) 21:54, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
