editIn the 3rd paragraph you suddenly use the term 'diphtheroid' without defining it. Is it synonymous with Corynebacterium? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pietrocoen (talk • contribs) 11:50, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
- Are diphtheroids non pathogenic? I think they look like C. diphtheria but some of them are pathogenic. They don't produce diphtheria but other medical condition (with infection, and formation of a false membrane) called pseudodiphtheria, so they have a pathogenic hability but a less pathogenic one than those of C. diphtheria. See: [1]. And the article says: "The nondiphtheiroid Corynebacterium species can even be found in the mucosa and normal skin flora of humans and animals" What is the meaning of "nondiphteroid" here? Acording with the previous meaning in the article nondiphtheroid = C. diphtheria. This should be clarified.--Miguelferig (talk) 19:55, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
