Characterizations of violence
editCan we have a reference regarding connection to Koliyivschyna? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Okinasevych (talk • contribs) 19:18, 17 October 2015 (UTC)
- Three years without a citation for this. Without a clear source, I propose it be removed. Okinasevych (talk)
POV additions
editNoting that inserting, then edit warring in content like this image with an unreferenced description is a violation of WP:NPOV and decidedly WP:POINTy. The article is not detailed and, per WP:BALANCE, without reasonable context it is blatant WP:ADVOCACY. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 22:14, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
- The description is common-sensical. There are many Mamai painting with a hanging Jew, and occasionally a non-Jew as well. It would be nearly impossible to source a description, and I don't think it is needed.--Lute88 (talk) 23:48, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

- @Lute88: You haven't addressed the policy issues I've brought up. I know it's legitimate, but I am questioning the WP:POINTy use of the gallery addition with it's description without context. None of the other gallery images have descriptions, nor is there a WP:BALANCEed context for the addition of the description. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 00:13, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
- I don't see any issues there, the genre of Mamai with a hanging Jew has a large prevalence, and there is at least one painting with two hanging individuals. There is a 300page Mamai monograph on my shelf, and there are at least a dozen of Mamais with this salient detail.--Lute88 (talk) 00:20, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
- But there is one proviso - I'd prefer the description to say not "Jew" but rather "Arendator", which is who the character is.--Lute88 (talk) 00:23, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
- Well, at least that gives it a context. But, if we have one description of the scene being depicted, I'd suggest that the rest need descriptions in order to give them context. The article needs expansion, but not by means of fragmented images and information about what is being depicted when it doesn't really address the WP:TITLE. You and I may know what Mamay represents (I'm spelling it this way to differentiate between the actual Mamai), but the article is currently very uninformative. Developing an article in the current manner simply looks as if Ukrainians admire a xenophobic thug. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 01:07, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
- Well, I'm in possession of the resources needed, and I fully intend to work on this (not until the week after next, am too busy in real life).--Lute88 (talk) 01:29, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
