I changed this article's importance rating from 'Top' to 'High', as Top should be for the Canada article and maybe a handful of others, but not for this Council, IMO. Since the Council is pan-Canadian, it's not necessary to add separate tags for each province/territory, so I removed those from the banner. Finally, although the article currently has no inline citations it does provide external links, so I rated it 'C' class, though other editors might call it 'Start' instead. First Ministers' Conference - Council of the Federation

edit

If I understand it correctly the federal government takes part in the First Ministers' Conference (like the Council of Australian Governments) while the Council of the Federation is purely provincial (like the U.S. National Governors Association)?----Bancki (talk) 10:11, 7 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Justin Trudeau listed under members

edit

Curious as to why Justin Trudea/the Prime Minister of Canada (in general) is listed under the "Members" section. The Council of the Federation is only the Premiers of Canada's provinces and territories. If the Premiers met with the Prime Minister, this would be a First Ministers' Meeting. Moreover, the Council of the Federation is a table that is chaired by a Premier and rotates annually, so it is not as if the Prime Minister could ever be a member of the Council of the Federation. With that said, I will edit the article to remove Justin Trudeau from the members list. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.229.115.125 (talk) 15:02, 24 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
