Talk:Counterintuitive Behavior of Social Systems

Latest comment: 7 years ago by InternetArchiveBot in topic External links modified

This page is an attempt to present an IMHO worthwhile quote from Jay Forrester. My previous attempt to present this was a page with a bolded quote and no links. This time I didn't use bold, and I put in some links to show why I think it's relevant.

I don't think this belongs in Category:Semantic web. Any number of things might have "potential applications to semiotics, artificial intelligence, and the semantic web", but that doesn't mean those categories apply. Surely we can find a better one. johndburger 15:38, 3 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Notability

edit

Is this notable. I found it out of context and meaningless, but I am an engineer. Needs more explanation or deletion or slotting into an article od decision making Cosnahang (talk) 09:51, 3 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

On further consideration:

  1. Reading the original, which started; 'Mental models are fuzzy, incomplete, and imprecisely stated.' I grasped the context etc. & understood why it is such a great quote
  2. I merged it into the flame wars article and marked this one for deletion.

user:SoWhy removed the delete tag because -

Decline speedy - neither is this a valid reason for deletion nor would it be. This article is about the paper, not the term "flame wars".

  • Anonymous coward: Well, if this paper is not notable, I do not know what would be. It is one of the most influential papers of that age in system dynamics/ system modeling area. Although its numerical conclusions proved to be wrong, it was an eye-opener on the applicability of the system complexity on common human systems. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.156.110.33 (talk) 15:01, 4 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
