Note on another Country Life

edit

I haven't done up an article on it yet, for lack of available resources, but Country Life was also the name of a magazine for rural women published by Margaret Lally "Ma" Murray and her husband George Matheson Murray in the earlier part of the 20th Century; it was originally published from their home in Anmore, British Columbia and later from the offices of the Bridge River-Lillooet News in Lillooet, British Columbia, maybe later also from the offices of their Alaska Highway News in Fort St. John, British Columbia. Once I start the article I'll add a dabline here (gee, the preceding is almost enough to start the stub with huh?).Skookum1 (talk) 17:24, 2 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

There was also a magazine in the US called Country Life that was published by Doubleday (publisher). The Country Life Press (LIRR station) was named after the magazine.

This presumably explains why such a very British magazine is illustrated with a cover showing the very un-British price of 50 cents. I see from the article that there is also an Australian version, but in January 1922 Australia was still using British currency. PNeedham (talk) 21:42, 14 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Indeed! I have deleted the cover for this reason. Also note that the 1922 issue depicted is labelled volume XLI[1][2], which implies that the magazine began in 1881, whereas the UK magazine began in 1897. sroc (talk) 00:12, 19 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
