editI am reverting a group of recent edits by Youtubek. It looks like there may be some useful information, but the additions are confusing and self-contradictory; they also contradict sourced material already in the article and contain no new source citations themselves. I'm not sure where to begin in any attempt to fix this, so I'm opting for the easy way and sending them back to the drawing boards. Fat&Happy (talk) 23:49, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
- thank you and i understand well can sure how to put citations because there alot i want to add to Coyote Springs, Nevada page becuase there not really alot on there if i post here what i want to add can u put on page
- thanks.

- If I understand you correctly, you have references for quite a bit of additional material on Coyote Springs, but may need some help in formatting the references for Wikipedia. Although this isn't really one of my articles of great interest (referenced by an article that was referenced by another article that I was editing, lol), I can certainly try to help you with your first few additions. You can post them here on the talk page first; or you could post the facts in the article itself, followed by the URL address of the ref (if on the web) or the information you have (article or book title, author, date published - anything that helps identify and find it), surrounding that information with a <ref> in front and a </ref> after it. Then I'm sure I or another editor could help apply more formatting if needed. Fat&Happy (talk) 01:52, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
Material for discussion and consideration
edit02-25-2010 Board of Equalization Lowers Land Values for 3 Developers in Lincoln County
After listening to the case from both Whittemore and Lincoln County Assessor Melanie McBride, the board unanimously voted to reduce the rate from $3900 per acre to $3,000.
Dispute resolution
editI've been watching the back and forth between Vegaswikian and Quayhands. I don't have time to get involved in this editing right now but have observed Vegaswikian making solidly sourced edits and Quayhands making what appears to be WP:OR or unsourced edits. I am appealing to Quayhands to start following policy. Ward20 (talk) 00:11, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
- I have restored the page (twice now) to the pre-Back&Forth version. And left a message on Quayhands talk page concerning the need to source his additions and the improper removal of sourced information (as well as the necessary need for edit summaries). I have the page watchlisted. If there is further editing without any discussion, than I will protect the page temporarily until that discussion can occur. — CactusWriter | needles 04:34, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for helping out with this. Keepcalmandcarryon (talk) 22:51, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
hi sorry about that guys i wont make any more changes i just felt the article should be shorter i would like to discuss it with you guys see what u think. (Quayhands (talk) 23:11, 19 April 2010 (UTC)).
- I am not certain what your concerns about the article length are. Could you elaborate? — CactusWriter | needles 00:22, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
[[User:CactusWriter i just saw the message here sorry about that here i dont have any concerns i want keep the same length i just would like to add some things and change what i wrote i talk to some of people over coyote springs development and put what they told me into my own words here what i like to add Coyote springs is a vision of a green city of 240,000 residents rising up out of nowhere, transforming a remote area into state-of-the-art city it will be construct a full-blown city in an isolated place, complete with all the necessary services from an events center,Urgent care Center,Town centers with casinos, k-universities schools and planned transportation system it would be largest planned green city in the United states. (Quayhands (talk) 20:02, 20 April 2010 (UTC)) Let me know what you think
so no one want to have discussion alright well later today im going add this ? (Quayhands (talk) 15:37, 21 April 2010 (UTC)).
- And soon thereafter, the additions will probably be reverted. Your interpretation of what "some of people over coyote springs development" may have said to you doesn't even remotely approach being a reliable source, as required by Wikipedia policies. Fat&Happy (talk) 16:10, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
- Wikipedia articles should be written with information from reliable, secondary sources. Such information should not be deleted simply because individual editors feel the article is too long. We have the additional obligation to strive for encyclopaedic tone; flowery language about "full-blown city" and "vision" is probably best in other types of writing. Finally, Coyote Springs as a "green city" would need solid sources and would have to be balanced by the views of environmental groups...which have been published in many reliable sources and are almost uniformly critical of the planned community. Keepcalmandcarryon (talk) 16:18, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
Keepcalmandcarryon andFat&Happy i give up then becuase i seem to be doing everything wrong i just wont edit this page no more bye. (Quayhands (talk) 17:23, 21 April 2010 (UTC)).
- Noting that Quayhands and Youtubek have the same editing interests and the same editing and writing styles, one could perhaps be forgiven for questioning the sincerity of this good-bye... Keepcalmandcarryon (talk) 16:30, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
Keepcalmandcarryon why was the chages i made not there? and dont even know who Quayhands is so what we have the same writing sytles it doesnt mean anything(Youtubek (talk) 19:59, 25 April 2010 (UTC)).
Hi my name is John i just joined i saw all the edits that Quayhands made and i want help clean up this page what can i do?(Massiveprojects (talk) 17:44, 29 April 2010 (UTC)).
- Provide sources for material being added. Don't make the article read like a sales pitch, it is an encyclopedia. Don't use invented and inappropriate terms (like using a label that is for cities containing millions of people) to describe the project. Vegaswikian (talk) 18:34, 29 April 2010 (UTC)
Vegaswikian ok thank you for you help i try that is there area on here where can test out what i want put on main article if so can you help
(Massiveprojects (talk) 02:37, 3 May 2010 (UTC)).
- It needs to be in clearer English. Also, you kind of lost my support at new town. That is not what it is and as I recall that phrase and similar ones have been deleted in the past. As I read the current opening, it may need some enhancement, but nothing big. Vegaswikian (talk) 05:19, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
Here what i got so far let me know what u think and if wrong tell what to do to fix it
[User:Vegaswikian|Vegaswikian]] how this? Coyote Springs is a master-planned city an hour north of Las Vegas ,being developed in Lincoln County and Clark County, Nevada by Coyote Springs Land and Pardee Homes. Disruptive editing
editRecent edits by suspected sockpuppet User:Tonyf23ton are disruptive and puzzling. If there's a good reason to remove sourced information from the article, that reason should be presented on the talk page and discussed before changes are made. Proposed text should also be presented. Because this particular user, like the three sockpuppets before him or her, would benefit from assistance with grammar and formatting, this will allow other users to correct mistakes before the language is placed into the article. Keepcalmandcarryon (talk) 23:14, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

- From the edits, look at the contributions of a few of the editors, they appear to be somehow industry involved. The changes seem to be sales pitch or marketing related. However they are maturing and figuring out how to edit in ways that may keep them under the radar. This is not the only article that has been affected. There are others. If you need a change of pace, look at Vic Schoen not involved with this. Vegaswikian (talk) 18:06, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
Coyote Springs improvements and things to add.
edityes i would like suggested improvements to this article can you help me (Las vegas kid (talk) 23:39, 24 October 2010 (UTC))
Coyote Springs, Nevada- a 43,000 acre community located 50 miles north of Las Vegas at the junction of US 93 and State Route 168. The planned development has attracted some controversy because of environmental concerns and allegations of political favoritism.
Coyote Springs location and plan Coyote Springs is planned to cover 43,000 acres (17,000 ha) or 65 square miles (170 km2). There would be total of 159,000 mixed units build on 20,000 acres (8,100 ha) straddling the Clark and Lincoln County line, leaving 12,000 acres (4,900 ha) as a wildlife preserve .Coyote Springs is located between U.S. Route 93 on the west and the Meadow Valley Mountains to the east, a drive of less than an hour from the City of Las Vegas.Coyote Springs will be e a sustainable city built over 45 years; will house 240,000 people; and will provide 500,000 local jobs. Groundbreaking on homes has been delayed and is now slated for fall 2012. The development will include Town centers,Employment centers, Public services, Twelve golf courses , Hotel casinos, schools and Shopping Centers.
History Harvey Whittemore announced his plans for Coyote Springs in 1998.[1] Construction on the community itself was planned for around the same time, with the official ground breaking held on July 5, 2006. However, regulatory issues involving water rights and US recession placed construction plans on hold[citation needed] .[2]
Development BrightSource Energy has plans to build a 960 MW (1,290,000 hp) solar thermal power plant within the development in 2012.[3]
Controversy
Coyote Springs has proven controversial because of environmental issues and allegations of perceived favours granted developer Harvey Whittemore by politicians including Senator Harry Reid.[1][4][5][6]
In February 2009, the Center for Biological Diversity, announced plans to sue the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) for violations of the Endangered Species Act. The Center contends the Coyote Springs development and resultant loss of water resources and habitat would harm the desert tortoise and potentially hasten the extinction of the Moapa dace. [1]
(Las vegas kid (talk) 23:54, 24 October 2010 (UTC))
- Las vegas kid, I don't quite understand these changes. For example:
- Why do wish to remove mention of the golf course? -- it seems that it was an important first step in the construction of the community and achieved some notability.
- Language like a drive of less than an hour from the City of Las Vegas is advertising copy and does not belong in an encyclopedic article. (Please see WP:NOTADVERTISING).
- The same problem exists for the paragraph: Coyote Springs will be e a sustainable city built over 45 years; will house 240,000 people; and will provide 500,000 local jobs. Groundbreaking on homes has been delayed and is now slated for fall 2012. The development will include Town centers,Employment centers, Public services, Twelve golf courses , Hotel casinos, schools and Shopping Centers. It reads like promotional copy directly from a developer's press release. There is no independent RS sourcing given. And using words like "will be", "will house" and "will provide" reads like speculation. Please see WP:CRYSTAL.
- Could you please explain your reasoning for wanting these changes? — CactusWriter (talk) 15:52, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
- [[User:CactusWriter| the reason for wanting these changes are alot of the same things are repeat in article for example golf course and should only mention once.I agree with what your saying about a drive of less than an hour from the City of Las Vegas is advertising copy and 50 miles should be added instead. Im not trying make it reads like promotional copy directly from a developer's press release i was just trying put it all together and shorter the paragraph becuase it doesnt need be the long.(Las vegas kid (talk) 17:34, 25 October 2010 (UTC))
- You have a misunderstanding about the standard format of a Wikipedia article. The lead or introductory paragraph exists as a summary of the main elements in the article. Those elements are further expanded upon in the body of the article -- therefore, there is always going to be some slight repetition. The lead should be able to stand alone as a concise overview of the article. Please see WP:LEDE. The article is quite short as it is, so Wikipedia:Article size is not an issue. The sourced information should be expanded upon rather than deleted -- unless there is a significant reason for its removal. — CactusWriter (talk) 17:57, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
- This is beginning to sound like advertising copy or sales promotion of a sock. Several editors in the past have raised the 500,000 local jobs which is simply unsupportable. That is 25% of the Vegas population! Yet this keeps showing up. Also the spelling and punctuation follows that used in the past by problematic editors. Vegaswikian (talk) 18:08, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

editCoyote Springs should be merged Harveyville Nevada or one new article should be created(Las vegas kid (talk) 18:25, 25 October 2010 (UTC)).
- Why? There is no source for a new name. If there is, then a proper change can be discussed or made. This is sounding more like insider information or some oddly sourced material. Vegaswikian (talk) 19:11, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
