Would CpG Oligonucleotide be a better name
edit"CpG Oligonucleotide" seems the more widely used term - Are there any/many nondeoxy CpG Oligonucleotides ? - Rod57 (talk) 14:14, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
- The word "oligonucleotide" may refer to both "oligoribonucleotides" and "oligodeoxyribonucleotides". TLR9 receptors don't recognize RNA, but only dsDNA. Hence, the physiological effect of CpG oligos being accepted to be TLR9-mediated, it is correct to say "oligodeoxynucleotide", and not "oligonucleotide". Iridix (talk) 12:56, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
