The page says that the crab-eating raccoon is solitary and nocturnal. However, I took the photos of the species used in the article, and the photos were taken (a) during the day and (b) there were a pair of raccoons traveling together. Was this abnormal behavior, or does the article require qualification? —Steven G. Johnson (talk) 20:02, 27 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Your picture is a common raccoon and not a crab-eating raccoon so it really needs changing. I have no experience editing wikipedia or in finding correctly licensed images so not sure how to change it. But this does need updating to show correct species. There is a lot of confusion online about what this species looks like! Tomgibo (talk) 10:40, 28 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
The main photo is an incorrectly identified common raccoon.

Almost all raccoon photos from Manuel Antonio are of common raccoon, crab eating raccoons have a brown base colour, dark legs, very short fur and a distinctive looking mask shape. More than 50% of Google images results for this species are wrong so it seems to be a common mistake, but the main photo needs changing. 193.117.174.69 (talk) 14:36, 22 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

It's not like eating seafood is such a big factor in this article? It's a misnomer , this species doesn't eat seafood more often than any other food. Most of the population lives away from the sea 201.35.254.135 (talk) 13:59, 20 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
