I would appreciate it if people would help expand this a little.
Thanks.
- Unfortunately, there's already been deletion discussion about this, and it doesn't warrant a separate article. —C.Fred (talk) 21:17, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
Contested deletion
editThis page should not be speedily deleted because
A: Creepypasta is part of Internet phenomena, and I only created this page to give a detailed analysis. Since you have wikipedia pages for trolling, internet memes and other phenomena, I don't see it as a bad thing to have one for Creepypasta.
B: I did not repost Jeff The Killer; I rather collided it together with Creepypasta.
C: Why can't you just edit it and improve it?
I have worked hard on this, and I appreciate not having my work just deleted from existence. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FictionFan2013 (talk • contribs) 21:20, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
- Rebutting:
- A: You are correct. See List of internet phenomena#Other, where it warrants a single line.
- B: Good call. Jeff the Killer is clearly not significant enough for an article.
- C: I could. However, I haven't found any reliable sources that discuss creepypasta as genre.
- The key complaint that led to deletion the first time around is "Sourcing consists of a news article that does not mention the term and a link to a web forum." I don't see significant coverage of creepypasta as a concept to where it warrants its own article; I think the coverage that exists at the article article is sufficient. Furthermore, I don't see where this article improves in any way upon the prior version that was subject to community discussion at WP:Articles for deletion/Creepypasta. The community opinion there was to delete. Unless you can provide multiple reliable sources that discuss creepypasta, there should not be an article. —C.Fred (talk) 21:25, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
