TigellaCrescentina – it's true name, this is tigella, and your Crescentina is gnocco fritto. This argument is controversial among the Italians (Modena's name vs Bologna's name) but the name of Bologna is just a metonymy, Modena's name is correct, "crescentina(s) is cooked using the tigella(s)". I hope you understand my english. All regions of Italy do what they want with the names, more foods may have the same name, but what you know in its origin country (Modena) is called crescentina and there are no doubts. If you want look page of Consortium of protection http://www.crescentinadimodena.it/
