The article in its current state is indeed something of a mess and should not be a Good Article. The Symbolism section is largely original research, unsourced, and should probably be deleted altogether. The Structure section should be reduced, and the Themes section expanded. It is poorly written in a number of places and in general lacks coherence and balance, making it difficult to read. However there are some parts that are well-written, sourced, and informative.
