This article is ridiculous
editAre we now going to start creating articles like this on WP? Hey, I want to create an article about crime in my town or country. I know WP has a lot of stupid articles in it but this beats them all. I vote for delete or at least merger with the oman article. Dr. Morbius (talk) 19:23, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
- Crime in individual towns is excessive, but 1 article per country? I don't think it's so bad. Yes, these are far from the best Wikipedia has to offer, but if they were given real organizational structure (I'd like to see it become standard that they be subdivided into 3 sections: "normal crime", organized crime, and terrorism), I think they'd actually contribute something. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tiger Khan (talk • contribs) 23:14, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
- "Stupid"? It's a valid topic; the article is well-referenced; it's trivially easy to imagine why someone might be interested in the topic. Often focused articles like this spin off of larger articles, like Oman, when they contain a level of detail considered excessive in the main; they become satellite articles. I see nothing at all "stupid" about this, and frankly the comment is destructive to the atmosphere of civility we try to maintain here. Thank you, Antandrus (talk) 03:45, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
quite valid I found it quite helpful actually. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.9.250.102 (talk) 20:49, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
- Every country has its own laws and interprets crime differently. If we merged this article into Oman, would that be the best place? We want to keep these articles separate so we can refer to it under Crime as a sub-topic, as well as under Oman. Crime is a level 3 vital article, so a Crime in <country> ought to be a standard article for every country. Or is your problem with the content, which you are welcome to improve. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 01:54, 28 February 2021 (UTC)
