The Crispy Gamer Wikipedia page should absolutely NOT qualify for deletion if sites like IGN.com, Gamespot.com, Gamespy.com and other video game web sites are permitted to have pages.

If further explanation beyond this is required, please consider the fact that Crispy Gamer is the first video game web site to refuse publisher ad dollars in an effort to present fully unbiased opinions to its readers. Bias in video game journalism is an increasingly relevant topic, especially int he last few years given the questionable dismissal of Jeff Gerstmann from Gamespot on November 28, 2007 after giving a negative review to Kane & Lynch: Dead Men. This event is outlined in more detail in the controversy section of the Gamespot wikipedia page. The extensive press coverage that Crispy Gamer has received, outlined in this page, further enforces the relevance of this topic.

Please let me know if further explanation is needed. MJZerbo (talk) 19:49, 15 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • I think it's fine to have an article about the site, but the page needs to be cleaned up quite a bit. In particular, it needs to focus on the aspects that make the site notable and distinct from other sites, and a description of the rating system and writing staff aren't sufficient. If I have some time, I'll take a crack at cleaning it up later this week. Oh, and please sign your posts. --Alan Au (talk) 00:05, 14 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
    • So basically, the references at the bottom should be wikified, and the staff list has way too many redlinks, suggesting that the list be pared down to a handful of the more substantial contributors, maybe the editor in chief and a few others. The review system part should be trimmed, and the GotY award section should probably be ditched. Page also needs a website infobox and some categories. Again, I'll take a crack at it later this week when I have more time. --Alan Au (talk) 00:15, 14 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Crispy Gamer news

edit

Looks like the CEO of Crispy Gamer resigned in protest after the entire editorial staff was laid off.

Might deserve a spot in the article as a current controversy. Torinir ( Ding my phone My support calls E-Support Options ) 09:13, 25 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Never mind. I see it hiding in the article already, although the second link could be added as a supporting citation. Torinir ( Ding my phone My support calls E-Support Options ) 09:15, 25 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
