No dates provided in the History section for when these locomotives were introduced. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Landroo (talkcontribs) 22:50, August 18, 2007 (UTC)

Diesel Crocodiles

edit

There were some Sulzer-engined diesel Crocodiles built by Les Ateliers Metallurgiques, Nivelles, Belgium, in 1949 for service in Bolivia; seemingly at least one of them still exists. See [1]. From what I can see, these appear to have been true (articulated) Crocodiles. I haven't added this to the article itself because I feel it would need a bit of rewording to encompass non-electric Crocodiles. I doubt there'd be any point in spinning diesel examples off into a separate article, though - were there any others? Grover Snodd (talk) 10:27, 15 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Jackshaft variations

edit

Can someone please confirm the identify of these two images, particularly the jackshafts and rods, and whether they're Ce / Be and Ce 6/8II or Ce 6/8III. Which is the earlier and later type? ThanksAndy Dingley (talk) 13:21, 3 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

The one in the left picture is ser II with the extra balance counter weight at the far end of each jack shaft, ser III does not have the end counter balance — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paul Matcalfe (talkcontribs) 19:40, 1 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Separate article for the SBB Ce 6/8 Crocodiles?

edit

Since the article Crocodile (locomotive) is meant to list crocodile locomotives in general, but it also include a good chunk of information about the SBB-CFF-FFS Ce 6/8 II/III (including the whole infobox about them). Should that be a separate page of its own? EditorGirlAL07 (talk) 00:47, 4 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

yeah i feel like that would be a good idea... would make the article fit in better with other articles about locomotive design families (e.g. the steeplecab, which i would say a "crocodile" is a sub-category of) 2A00:23C6:F509:5901:F8CE:74BC:AF14:970B (talk) 15:54, 5 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
