ZIP code error

edit

The entry states:

These areas include the communities of Crofton Meadows, Walden, Crofton Village, Chapman Farms, Huntwood, and the newly constructed Mt. Tabor Glen. A number of these communities are located in the Gambrills ZIP code of 21054.

This is not a true statement. I live in Walden, and my ZIP code is 21114. It has been for the entire 8 years I've lived here. I suspect this is the effort of someone who lives in the Crofton "Triangle" wanting to establish the clear differences between old and proper Crofton and the relatively newer parts of Crofton that have been developed north of Route 424.

I am changing it and will reference a PDF document from the state of Maryland.Vingold (talk) 12:26, 14 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

should be deleted?

edit

I question the "Ernie" Croftonite input, as I can not find proof of it on the internet. Also I can not find any proof that there is a statistical increase in violent crime in Crofton. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.183.99.39 (talk) 14:58, 18 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Overcrowding

edit

BRAC realignments led to increases in residential and commercial development in Crofton, which led to overcrowding in schools. In 2013, a redistricting proposal was approved for Crofton schools to accommodate an increase in students that was not previously planned for. While most current plans address overcrowding in elementary schools, county officials have not yet addressed needs at the Middle and High School level.

Questionable addition of high crime rate

edit

I am proposing a deletion of the high crime note. The only reference is a real estate website. Here is a link stating that it has low crime according to a FBI database: http://money.cnn.com/magazines/moneymag/bplive/2011/snapshots/PL2420875.html . That comment along with the demographic change seems like someone is trying to prove a point. http://disastercenter.com/crime/mdcrime.htm shows that the overall Maryland crime rate is much higher than Crofton making that statement incorrect. I will delete unless someone is able to provide counter sources or a better source than a real estate website and a generic statement that citizens are "concerned." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1003:B020:EA5A:1DB2:D883:DAD5:8461 (talk) 14:01, 7 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Instead of deleting, I suggest you rewrite the incorrect section. Use the references you cite here. Giving more (correct) information is much better than just deleting the wrong stuff. —Molly-in-md (talk) 12:48, 13 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
