Sales manipulation

Crowd manipulation is an excellent article. I am sure that "sales manipulation" would be a worthwhile sister article that could do with being done, covering high-pressure selling techniques etc. --Penbat (talk) 09:57, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

Irritating Animated GIF File

Is that irritating animated GIF file of Vladmir Lenin really necessary? It distracts from reading the text. I've read a lot of Wikipedia over the years and I think this is the first animated 2-second repeating animation (that tells us nothing) I've encountered. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.18.154.157 (talk) 10:40, 15 May 2011 (UTC)

Lenin's gestures and manner of speaking are far more interesting than some things in the article (the picture of Barack Obama doing nothing in particular, for instance). Lenin does illustrate a confident and pleasant, although rather artificial demeanor, so he provides a good example of effective crowd manipulation. The really annoying part of the gif is that it flashes back and forth between Lenin and a crowd. The crowd is actually not that useful and I think it would be an improvement if that part of the gif were just cut out.108.8.48.47 (talk) 08:39, 17 July 2011 (UTC)

A flash mob is a 'spontanious' gathering, that is 'organised in advance'? One of these is obviously wrong, so if someone who knows which could change it, that would make it a fair bit clearer.130.216.68.22 (talk) 04:43, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

I don't see how a flash mob is an example of manipulation. I thought it was people who volunterily came together for an agreed on purpose. BayShrimp (talk) 20:52, 24 July 2013 (UTC)

Focus of article

Is a crowd a group of people gathered in a public place, or the population in general? If it's the second it seems like crowd manipulation is really the same thing as propaganda or persuasion. BayShrimp (talk) 20:50, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
