C. hirsutus
editWhy no mention of the Costa Rican species C. hirsutus? Sasata (talk) 22:43, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
- It is not mentioned in any resource I have, and my resources consider the genus to be monotypic. C. hirsutus seems to have been first described in 1996, which is later than the most recent treatment I have for the genus. I'll need to amend the article, splitting the genus from the two species. Thanks for bringing this to my attention! If you have information about the identity of the basidiomycete(s) associated with Cryptothallus, I'd be much obliged, as I didn't find that information in the articles I've so far examined. --EncycloPetey (talk) 22:52, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
- I'll look into the identity of the fungus and update the article if I find anything. Sasata (talk) 23:00, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. Just to let you know: I'll shortly be moving this article to Cryptothallus mirabilis and creating a new genus article, since most of the information currently written applies to just the one species. --EncycloPetey (talk) 23:24, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
- If you need access to The Bryologist, JSTOR has full text from 1898 to 2006, so I should be able to get the description of C. hirsutus for you if you don't already have it. Very nice articles! A double hook for DYK would be great. --Rkitko (talk) 16:37, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
