Notability

We would like to have some assurance that you're not going to delete this page... Cucumber is an important and very active open source testing tool, its use is growing quickly, and there is a large and growing number of users. This small article is a placeholder that serves as a starting point for contributions. But contributors have now become skittish as there's apparently a threat of deletion. The notability tag is to encourage improvement and attract editors to improve sources and ensure the article addresses WP:GNG. It is not a deletion notice. Fæ (talk) 17:56, 27 July 2011 (UTC)

I believe the primary obstacle keeping this article from being more of a part of wiki is that it talks a lot about how to use cucumber and not a lot about cucumber, its history, the people involved in its creation, its impact on the market... other stuff you'd expect in an encyclopedia article (WP:NOT) . I recognize that this is an emergent technology in a fast market, and that having a manual page rather than encyclopedia article hosted here is likely vital to the survival of this technology. I'd like to recommend against removing this page for whatever my random and anonymous voice is worth. But if you are looking for a strong guarantee 24.130.49.57, I would also recommend moving the content here to an externally hosted page, and including some more "flavor text". Gherkin

"Others use the Gherkin parser but..."

I think a little more explanation about Gherkin is warranted, or at least a link or resource explaining the relationship between Gherkin and Cucumber. Rewrite?

This doesn't seem like the right place to have a user manual. I'm considering a re-write that takes a more "encyclopaedic" approach, and that omits information that is best kept in the online documentation. Is there a process for doing this, or should I work in a sandbox and submit for review when I believe it's ready to replace the existing article? Sebrose (talk) 12:16, 9 January 2020 (UTC)

Acquisition?

Gherkin example

As the German page did, could it be possible to display an example of the Gherkin syntax (or maybe create a page dedicated to Gherkin).

I see the Cucumber documentation is under MIT Licence, then it is allowed to pick this example there.
