IP editor issue

edit

I edited this article for maintenance with WP:BAREURLS (edit 1244286801). I noticed there was a significant amount of text copied directly from articles cited, and reworded / removed it (see previous edit link and edit 1244287467). I left a note about WP:COPYVIO on the editor's page (190.10.199.23). I've deleted the comments they spammed to my talk page - that's not the issue - and directed them to WP:CIVIL.

The issue is that they are taking maintenance edits personally and I do not want to engage in an edit war. I hate leaving bare URLs, but I'm leery of trying to fix the new bare URLs they've added in since with their reaction to my having done so before being as argumentative as it is. I've marked the article with the bareurls template. Is there anything further I need to do?

And with their reaction, should the article be marked with template for WP:COI? (Because I can't think of a reason to take it so personally otherwise.) OIM20 (talk) 22:09, 6 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

@OIM20: I have put a 'only warning' template on their user talk, if it happens again, please report at WP:AN, this is not the first time they have been warned for personal attacks - RichT|C|E-Mail 00:12, 7 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Rich Smith: Thank you, both for the information and for the link. I'm bookmarking it in case I ever need it, but I hope I don't. OIM20 (talk) 01:29, 7 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
