- You should change the text. You are telling us, that Custer is a great place. Don' t you think, that the facts about the observatory will speak for themselves. Neutrality means, that an average reader, who does not know you, nor the observatory, can not tell, whether a friend of Custer or a foe wrote this article. Almost every sentence of this article shows your relationship to this observatory. You should change this, because if you do not, someone else will take action. --Thw1309 06:14, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
Misleading picture
editThere is no way that picture of Deep Impact was taken from the observatory! It is a duplicate of Image:Deep_Impact_HRI.jpeg which was taken from the Deep impact probe itself. I am removing it: it is misleading and is irrelevant to the article. Danski14(talk) 17:11, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Article Renaming?
editWhile I was in the process of mending some of the less important mistakes in this article , I was ruminating on the bigger problems present throughout it. I do not believe I possess the authority nor the skill to make the following changes, but I believe it is worth suggesting regardless.
The title of this article is simply "Custer Observatory", and attempting to search for "Custer Institute" within the Wikipedia search bar redirects to this article. While the observatory is certainly the central focus of the institute, there are other facilities provided by Custer Institute -- namely the library and exhibit room mentioned on their website -- that seem worthy of including in some form. The exhibit room's reported contents are what motivated me to suggest this change, as the Custer Exhibit Room is described to contain not only astronomical items and exhibits, but also collections unrelated to that study such as the Custer Civil War Bullet Collection. Additionally, the website for Custer Institute titles itself as "Custer Institute & Observatory" as to not exclude the other varied services provided by the establishment.
As such, I propose that the title of this article be renamed to "Custer Institute & Observatory" as to account for this. This title is clear and not obstructive of the idea that the primary feature of the institute is its observatory. Additionally, searching "Custer Institute" or "Custer Observatory" using Wikipedia's search bar would redirect to this page. Besides, having the page titled simply "Custer Observatory" when its host entity (Custer Institute) lacks a Wikipedia page entirely is rather odd. This simple change, with further editing of the article's contents alongside it, should improve the quality of the article and dispel any confusion.
