  • Expand. Custom Robo is immensely popular in Japan and in gaming circles in the US. Because it's quite fantastic. Yeah. --Tothebarricades.tk 09:03, 13 Jul 2004 (UTC)

"This is a male oriented game, and almost all the women in the game are overly skinny with no wit about them" ....what the hell?

Thiscustom Robo article needs more information. Custom Robo is more than just a gamecube game. It is also a series of gba and N64 games. Also the gamecube game itself needs more information.

I've got the first N64 Game, can easily obtain V2 and own the GCN Game as well.

I propose that we relocate this to Custom_Robo:_Battle_Revolution and this as the Page for the N64 Game. Use Custom_Robo_series for the franchise as a whole.

japan?

edit

wtf? i come here expecting an article on the custom robo series but it only turns out to be one game? this article sucks in the first place, but it definetely needs at least SOME info on the original Custom Robos other than "Custom Robo was Originally N64 in Japan but later ported on to the Gamecube in America. There have been three games before it"

Agreed. This article is highly Americo-centric. Which is rather ironic, since the series was very popular in American gaming circles even when it was Japan only (imports); in fact it was more so than is the Gamecube one, which I think is generally considered inferior. --Tothebarricades 20:30, 10 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
I'd like to see some back-up for that opinion of yours: as someone who has finished every Game in the Series bar its GBA incarnation I hold Battle Revolution in high regard.

Walkthroughs / Faqs

edit

I have added general information about the game (robo parts) but am reluctant to place information or facts about the game itself without asking permisson. If any walkthrough or faq creator or publisher would like to have their info on this site, please leave a comment or feel free to add to this site <Xeo-Wizzard>

(6/22/06) I expanded it a little with information regarding the fact it's not just an American game. <Emerl>

Style Suggestion

edit

Custom Robo is the most unique game I have played, all time. Let's start with the basics. 3rd person perspective. 3D also. Guns are featured. The camera is almost top down. Maybe we could call this a 3rd person shooter. Maybe since the camera is not behind the back we could use a word like isometric or community? (I don't know why I bother. Community refers to connectivity and general interaction of NPC's and players alike.) Maybe "not behind the back but seen from an above/overall perspective". Just a thought. Feel free to use my words in any order you feel appropriate.-Shadow the Edge-hog 00:19, 16 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

"Notes"

edit

Does anybody else think that the Notes section should be cleaned up?

It seems to give the impression that this is a Remake of the N64 Original...which is not the case.

Done. The notes section would be more litteral as a trivia section, revised the trivia as to clarify Custom Robo from Custom Robo Battle Revolution. akira ikwueme 03:35, 6 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Transwiki

edit

All of the "Custom Robo Parts" section appears to be based around the idea that Wikipedia is an appropriate place for tedious, unneeded lists. I would like to transwiki to strategywiki for the given section. With the proper links, this could be turned into a stategy database. -Shadow the Edge-hog 03:51, 6 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

comic

edit

does anyone know anything about the Custom Robo comic, like the artist/author? I've seen excepts of it in the Oct-Dec 2004 issues of Nintendo Power, but I haven't been able to find anything else since.

JPN date

edit

I added the Japanese date to the infobox... -- Erik

RPG!?

edit

I've been buzzing around a few sites and they all claim this game to be an rpg, are they out of their minds?

Well anyway, I was wondering if this article could be a little more in-depth about this game.

Fair use rationale for Image:RoboGamecover.jpg

edit

Image:RoboGamecover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Custom Robo models

edit

Nintendo, Noise (Marigul) and Bandai have came out with a series of toy models based on some of the Robos from the first game in the series that was released for the Nintendo 64. The four they came out with where #1 Ray, #2 Flare #3 Robin #4 Drake. They all come with several interchangeable parts from the game. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.230.152.21 (talk) 21:38, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Genre Classification

edit

The Custom Robo series is by far one of the hardest series to classify because it can fit into several diffrent genres including but not limited to the following RPG (Role Playing Game), Fighting, and Action.

Controversy

edit

The Custom Robo series has been accused of being sexist towards women and being male oriented by having most female characters be thin and have no wit. Nintendo has clearly explained that they do not mean to be sexist in any way or to offend in there games meaning it is most likely a misunderstanding. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.230.152.21 (talk) 22:24, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Virtual Console Releases

edit

So far the series has had one game released for Nintendo's Virtual Console service. Custom Robo V2 is currently only available for download in Japan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.230.152.21 (talk) 22:31, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
