Shortly after 5:00 pm PST today I have agreed to take on this article as a "paid editor" to improve the piece, put it to WP style (maintaining NPOV), and satisfy the flags which have been bombed on top of the piece. Please contact me via my user page if any concerns with my work arise. Additional details on my user page. I will have an uninvolved editor with no financial connection review my work when I am finished, sometime later this month. —Tim /// Carrite (talk) 01:31, 4 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
Hey User:Carrite, were you paid personally by Gelman or by one of his companies? Also as I understand it, different freelancing websites handle money differently. I am assuming you did this through Upwork from the disclosure on your userpage... would you mind explaining how you were actually paid, and whose name was on the check or if it was an electronic transmission, who the deposit was attributed to? Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 18:22, 17 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Jytdog - I followed the rules of the road that were in place on English WP at the time. I received $50 which went to charity. I have nothing further to say to fuel an ex-post-facto rule-fueled feeding frenzy. I did learn this with my little experiment: there is no way for a good faith paid editor to dodge the anti-paid editing extremists by following the rules of the road — all of them. Ergo, Mr. Kohs has it exactly right from the perspective of paid editors: use burner accounts, mind your Notability and NPOV, and say nothing. That is what I would advise anyone seeking to do paid editing. I cut my experiment short at one rather than three, knowing which way the wind blows... Carrite (talk) 02:23, 18 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
