Cylichnium (gastropod) → Cylichnium – No need to disambiguate. Cylichnium (plant) is a synonym; we can put a hatnote to go to from the gastropod to the accepted plant genus Gaudinia instead. Hyperik ⌜talk⌟ 19:09, 3 October 2020 (UTC)—Relisting. Jerm (talk) 04:08, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). Hyperik ⌜talk⌟ 21:11, 3 October 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose - The move would remove the taxon Cylichnium as a synonym, redirecting to Gaudinia. And there exists also the Category:Cylichnium (gastropod) in the Commons. JoJan (talk) 14:11, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
- It wouldn't be removed as a synonym. Via a hatnote on the gastropod article it could still direct to the plant genus Gaudinia. As far as I can tell, the name Cylichnium fragile (plant) hasn't been used since the 1800s, so not a particularly important synonym anyways. It makes more sense to highlight the gastropod article at the main page for Cylichnium. Removing the fungus Ascocoryne cylichnium from search engine results, all the top results are about the gastropod genus, not a plant. —Hyperik ⌜talk⌟ 14:27, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
- I don't mind the move per se. It would even be more logical. But then what about all the links pointing to the article ? And what about the category and the photos in the Commons ?. They have to be dealt with as well. JoJan (talk) 15:53, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
- Not a prob! The work to rename here and elsewhere can be done. Just trying to set it straight. —Hyperik ⌜talk⌟ 15:59, 4 October 2020 (UTC)

Done. Links to the article will be automatically redirected. I've not done anything with the category myself though. -Kj cheetham (talk) 17:41, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
