Another Times article

edit

I did a quick search on the Times and Infotrac database and found the following which may be of use -

The Times (London, England), Sept 8, 2000 p13 Blitz survivors mark 60 years after bombing. (Home news) Robin Young.

Survivors of the London Blitz yesterday commemorated the 60th anniversary of the bombing campaign that was intended to bring Britain to its knees during the Second World War.

Cyril Demarne, 95, a chief fire officer in East London during the Blitz, joined other survivors at the Imperial War Museum. He said: "You can't imagine what it's like to be underneath the bombs. First you heard the sirens, then the aircraft followed by the bombs screaming down and it was simply terrifying. After a couple of days I realised I could do nothing about it.

"In the first week of the Blitz I thought London wouldn't be able to stand up to it. There were huge craters and gas flames blazing high in the air and tangled telephone cables everywhere. But every night the emergency services got to work and got everything up and running all over again."

Would be useful to have some text referenced to the collection of press cuttings and other sources as per WP:CITE. - Foxhill 14:10, 2 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Not sure how to put in required citations both quotes are from his book The London Bitz - A Firemans Tale ISBN: 0 900913 67 3. Should the 'Zoominfo' site be referenced for the press cuttings? - Dylanmills 02:23, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Tried again to include citations without any luck!Dylanmills 09:48, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Have added some example refs (one book, one web) to show you a way to do it. There are a variety of different ways to add references, the simplest being to just add text between <ref> and </ref> but I find using {{Citeweb}} and {{Citebook}} as well the easiest and most elegant. I've used the field <ref name" "> to show you how to cite the same source more than once without having to type the whole thing in again.
I think it would be best to reference the actual article which zoominfo provides a link to (if the links still work) if not then reference the original publisher but link to zoom so that browsers can read an extract. Hope this helps, - Foxhill 12:41, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks very much you're a great help. Dylanmills 10:27, 18 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
