To editor Chris troutman: I looked a bit in page history and I see the mess was started by these edits. I did whatever I did after that. Is there a good way to merge Czechia (disambiguation) and Czech Republic (disambiguation). The latter one is the original DAB page before disaster. I have no idea what this Charvat guy is up to. Anything currently on "Czechia (disambiguation)" that wasn't on "Czech Republic (disambiguation)" doesn't really belong here. At least not in the "may also refer to" section. Experience. No one has found enough evidence that Czechia is even commonly used for the modern state, so any other usage in English is going to be even less common. Basically the only people using Czechia at all are the Czechs themselves.--Khajidha (talk) 11:47, 17 November 2017 (UTC)

This piece in Forbes says Czechia is the newly-adopted short form name. It would have been nice if the editors involved explained that. Unexplained changes look like vandalism. Since the term is new, it only refers to the Czech Republic and therefore this disambig page can be deleted. Chris Troutman (talk) 08:23, 18 November 2017 (UTC)

Don't trust lazy reporters (at least that article had most things right :)). Czechia is very old, the only new thing is that now it is official, sooner it was just rare, uncommon and unofficial. (Meaning also varied between Bohemia, Protectorate Bohemia+Moravia, Czech lands...) Do not say you never heard about Czechia before that official adoption, at least because of some eager wikipedia contributors. Rare different meanings - Is it a reason for deleting Czechia disambiguation? You just don't want any "Czechia" titles page on wiki, do you :D Look on wiktionary. Let me tell you up front, nonsense like "do not say you never heard about Czechia" is not helping. If you don't like Forbes as a source then please explain why. In the English Language, we refer to the Czech Republic, Czechoslovakia, and Bohemia. Perhaps in other languages the term Czechia is more common. I would have preferred that those that know about the term would have saved me time and explained versus making me go look it up myself. This is English-language Wikipedia. The redirect from Czechia to Czech Republic is appropriate per WP:R#KEEP. But if Anglophones are only now hearing this term, then (for us) the connotation to the Czech nation is recent, not ancient. Hey, did I admit Czechia was (and is) very rare? I did. Question remains - is it forbidden to make disambiguation full of rare and rarer meanings of a term/word/name? To editor Chris troutman: The only proper way to stop this ridiculous nonsense is to update the articles Bohemia and Czech lands with reference of the use the word "Czechia" in English sources. A cursory search in google books shows it abundantly, both in recent and older sources. I will do this in a couple hours.
