Second most popular party?
editThe claim that the SGP is the second most popular party in DC seems to be based on the fact that in 2006 all SGP candidates combined got more votes than all Republican candidates combined, but the SGP was running more candidates, so the statistic is misleading. In registration, the SGP has less than a sixth of the voters the Republicans do. KCinDC (talk) 16:16, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
- I've revised the first paragraph to clarify where the claim comes from. KCinDC (talk) 14:19, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

editWashington, D.C. is a city, not a state. Also, it can't exactly be a D.C. Statehood party if D.C. is already a state... ―Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 15:36, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
- The District of Columbia isn't a state. It's a terroeitory with one city - Washington, D.C.. Since they're coterminus, they have one government. Me-123567-Me (talk) 16:56, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
- The party itself and its national organization consider it a state-affiliate. For the purposes of this article, that should be sufficient for including it in the GPUS by state category.--TM 22:21, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
- That is not how a state is formed. The Green Party is not authorized under the Constitution to admit a new state to the Union. Jack N. Stock (talk) 02:08, 22 August 2018 (UTC)
- And if the Green Party considered it a part of Argentina, would you recategorize it as an Argentine political party? ―Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 06:31, 27 August 2018 (UTC)
