The result of the move request was: no consensus. As an aside, noting the threat to go straight to a MR, I did a quick Google Books search for DHS, and didn't find a hit that wasn't for the Department of Homeland Security until the fourth page. Number 57 12:18, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

DHS (disambiguation)DHSDHS redirects to United States Department of Homeland Security. Today, the redirect was changed into a disambiguation page. I have reverted the change, as there is already a disambiguation page (this page) and am opening this move discussion to gauge consensus on whether the disambiguation page should move to DHS or the redirect should stay where it is. All links to DHS have been disambiguated (I didn't know this page existed until I went to create it). There were 52 links to DHS, of which 49 were meant for the Homeland Security department. Note: if this RM closes with anything other than a close based on Google Book evidence I will be calling for a Move Review. In ictu oculi (talk) 04:36, 24 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
Such an absurd, thinly veiled threat to any closing admin. Google Books is not and has never been the sole criteria to determine primary topics. Honestly, I welcome a move review for this just to disprove this BS of claiming "per Google Books" at various RMs. -- Calidum 04:42, 24 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
"Such an absurd, thinly veiled threat to any closing admin" - it's not a threat and not "bullshit", it's a response to RM contributors who !vote based on what terms and titles mean to themselves. take a look at the search string "the DHS is" in Google Books and the US body clearly fails the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC requirement. The onus is on those !voting to make one of many DHS the absolute majority topic to provide arguments from a survey of sources, not just wave the US flag and shout cow excrement at non-Americans. How about this: "There were 52 links to DHS, of which 49 were meant for the Homeland Security department." From the nomination. Red Slash 22:04, 20 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Support there are plenty of Department of H Services, no need to single out one 76.120.164.90 (talk) 18:51, 25 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose From my cozy British local, I google DHS and the primary topics are the US Department of Homeland Security. The first click in news gives me : http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/mar/02/democrats-block-dhs-funding-bill-immigration-shutdown-boehner : where the British Newspaper The Guardian expects the British reader to know the obvious primary topic in the headline, written in British English, is DHS = US Department of Homeland Security. --Secondly, what is this rubbish about google books? I've seen this far too many times in move requests. The only way to determine subject primacy is by google books? BS! The only way to determine the velocity of an unladen sparrow is by using two atomic clocks and determining the time dilation caused by sparrow flight? ~~Ip user.
