The result of the move request was: moved. As for the fate of Dagö, we are split with two asking to redirect it to Hiiumaa (if I read Yakikaki's support as including that, which seems correct) and two asking for either a new dab or a redirect to Dago (dab). I am going to redirect to Dago as it includes Hiiumaa already, but if anybody has evidence that Hiiumaa is the primary topic and wishes to redirect it (or wants a dab at Dagö instead), I won't get in the way. Dagö → Dagö (band) – The WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for "Dagö" seems to be the German/Swedish name of Hiiumaa, from which the band takes its name. See Google Books search for usage in English sources. After the move, Dagö should be made to redirect to Hiiumaa. Jähmefyysikko (talk) 12:30, 1 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
- Comment: Many of the incoming links are currently incorrect and should redirect to Hiiumaa. Jähmefyysikko (talk) 07:15, 2 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
- @Jähmefyysikko: it is also possible that Dagö to be redirected to the DAB Dago Estopedist1 (talk) 12:52, 2 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
- Yes, this is what should be done if we find that the island is not the primary topic. Do you think it is not? At least the case for WP:PT2 seems clear. But both options are OK for navigation—at least after some modifications to hatnotes—so it does not matter too much which one we pick. Jähmefyysikko (talk) 20:03, 2 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
- Support move and changes per original nomination. Yakikaki (talk) 21:28, 3 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
- Comment This is English Wikipedia, so if the band is more popular than the origin' word (atleast in Estonia it is; you can also see that from different interwikis), we should prefer that. I fixed incoming links. I'm not sure how widely is the word "Dagö" used for island nowadays. Pelmeen10 (talk) 18:10, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
- The name is not used in contemporary context, but occurs in historical accounts about the time periods when the island was dominated by Swedes or Germans. My guess is that in Estonian it is usually called 'Hiiumaa' even in those periods, making 'Dagö' less common than in similar English texts. Also, the band seems to target Estonian audiences (e.g. mostly tours in Estonia) which gives it more weight in eewiki than in enwiki. Jähmefyysikko (talk) 18:40, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
- Support move per nom but probably create a dabpage at Dagö. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:15, 7 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
