Merge Red Ryder BB Gun into this article

edit

I'm not trying to detract from the popularity of the Red Ryder BB Gun in any way, but its a fairly short article and its very significant to the history of the Daisy company. Hence my recommendation. Pop Culture

edit

I suggest a cleanup of this section, as I've seen far too many times over the years where users and anons want to add every single trivial appearance certain weapons have made, which is not what this site is for. The Red Ryder in 'A Christmas Story' can be argued as a notable mention, as a huge part of the story revolves on the main character wanting this air rifle for Christmas. It being in the video game 'Terraria' is not notable. My gut tells me that these are all unnecessary entries, aside from what I mentioned, but I'm not familiar enough with them to decide that. Military Use of the Daisy Red Ryder

edit

I don't think this would be appropriate as a "Pop Culture" item, and I don't have adequate source material but the Red Ryder BB gun was used by the US Army for training in the mid to late 1960s. It was used to teach a technique called "Quick Kill" which was mostly taught to soldiers about to go to Vietnam. The use of this iconic toy for serious adult military training seems worth being mentioned. N4aof (talk) 07:10, 16 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
