Talk:Daisy Rock Girl Guitars

Article needs reworking

edit

this articles sound like it was written by somebody who works for Daisy Rock... anybody agree?—Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.102.11.203 (talk) 2007-03-13 12:12:16 (UTC)

elaborating, this article is trash. it's like an advertisment. furthmore, look at the "notable artists" that play Daisy Rock guitars. Dee Dee Ramone? am i wrong, or did the first paragraph of this article say the company was formed in 2000? the ramones are from the 70's. Three Days Grace? if you see any picture of these guys performing they are most certainly NOT playing daisy rock guitars. Hilary Duff? she can't play guitar (or sing without the aid of vocal synth). Aly and Aj? pretty sure i saw some irritating video of them "playing" guitar in Tilly's. not daisy rock. in all, this article should be deleted or rewritten by somebody who cares enough. thanks. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.102.11.203 (talk) 2007-03-13 12:21:10 (UTC).

Would be nice to have an objective neutral article

edit

I have taken a crack at making the product information a little more neutral based on information from the Daisy Rock site and online catalog. I have not studied them that hard but I am not totally clear what kind of cases come with all models. Personally, I think the key is just to outline the different styles/lineups and indicate scale lengths, since the scale lengths are really the major quantifiable salient "selling point" of the Daisy Rock guitars. (Neck size is another, but I don't have a good way to quantify the neck radius or profile).

I have also shrunk the "artist" information to just five endorsees and made it more clear that they are endorsees. I picked just the ones that I think are notable, since I don't want this to be driven solely by Daisy Rock's marketing list, which is very long. I have not yet made any effort to verify that these artists have current endorsement arrangements, but it is worth noting that none of the five have Daisy Rock mentioned on their Wikipedia pages. It would be nice to have some information on whether they are/were compensated for endorsing Daisy Rock guitars.

I also took some of the more fanciful language out of the company history. I put back in the quote about the daisy design since I think it is interesting to explain the unusual daisy body shape, but made it clear that the story comes from company materials (that is, propaganda). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paul R. I think this makes the whole article somewhat closer to what it should look like. It probably needs a little more wikification and direct references to sources. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.48.205.42 (talk) 2007-06-20 22:09:21 (UTC)
