POV Issue
editThis piece has some serious POV issues. It is largely sympathetic to Damien Corsetti, who has been identified by multiple sources as having participated in terrible torture. The point that lower-ranking soldiers were made the fall guys for policies encouraging torture - policies created and implemented by high ranking officers and the Bush administration - is a valid point of discussion. However, depicting Corsetti as a good guy who was a friend to prisoners goes against multiple witness accounts of his behavior in Afghanistan and Iraq.Chimaria (talk) 15:44, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
- It is true that Mr Corsetti has been named as a participant in abuse.
- It is also true that he has been identified by some captives as a sympathetic guard.
- And it is also true that he was acquitted when some of the allegations against him were formalized into charges, and a court martial was convened.
- Is it really our job to establish which of our conflicting sources has the real truth about Corsetti? Or is it our job to faithfully and neutrally inform our readers that the sources are in conflict?
- If you think the current version of the article lapses from neutrality, verifiability, or WP:UNDUE could you be more specific about which passages concern you, and why their concern you? I think that would be the next step in getting your concerns addressed.
