editI am trying to clean up this biographical statement on Dan F. Morse. Please let me know what was 'non-neutral' about what I wrote. Whomever is reviewing this page should be aware that Dr. Morse is on of the best known and published archaeologists in the southeastern United States, having worked at many famous sites in the region over his career, and having written about many of them as well. I was trying to make sure he met the notability criteria. Here is what I wrote that was deleted:
Dan Franklin Morse is an archaeologist specializing in the prehistory of the midwestern United States and the central Mississippi Valley, research summarized in several major books and monographs, and in a great many shorter papers. He is best known for his 1983 Academic Press volume synthesizing the "Archaeology of the Central Mississippi Valley" with Pyllis A. Morse, and for his 1997 Smithsonian Institution Press volume "Sloan: A Paleoindian Dalton Cemetery in Arkansas," the latter the report on excavations at the Sloan site, the location of the oldest marked cemetery found to date in the Americas. He conducted excavations on a great many other significant archaeologcial sites during his career, including at Brand, Cahokia, Nodena, Parkin, and Zebree. Morse retired from his posts as Survey Archeologist for the Arkansas Archaeological Survey and as Professor of Anthropology at the University of Arkansas in 1997 but continues to work on publications and interact with students and colleagues on sites. Dan F Morse, as he is known to distinguish him from his father, a noted forensic anthropologist and medical doctor, conducted excavations from his earliest years. With his wife and professional partner Phyllis A. Morse, he currently resides in Florida and North Carolina.

editI worked with Dan on most of the sites in northeast Arkansas. I would LOVE to communicate with him, or Phyllis, or even to any of the boys. 2601:3C8:C000:E8B0:D88C:CB88:B921:1EAB (talk) 18:22, 27 December 2021 (UTC)
