This page should list the professional dance partners that each celebrity is paired with. Turnstep 13:56, 21 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Tables and Lists

edit

This is just a message stating that the reason that Series 5 went from a table to a list is the fact that this series is over and a new one is beginning, thus no need for a table. This encyclopedic entry on Wikipedia must be conformative. All previous series are also just lists after the serieses finished. A table is best when the show is on air as Series 6 will be but once the show is over and a new one is beginning it clutters up the Wikipedia entry and it doesn't balance out. Check other Brit andOz shows like this. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.12.245.221 (talk) 20:10, 3 February 2007 (UTC).Reply

Yeah- I was going to say the same thing. Naysie 12:18, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Corrected current series table

edit

Someone had listed David Graham as voted out which is not correct. The April 3 DWTS is a package with no live competition. The next edition in which someone can be voted out will be aired in Australia on April 10. Until that time, there are still five couples in the competition. Fair use rationale for Image:Daryldancing.jpg

edit

Image:Daryldancing.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Article cleanup

edit

Hi, in case you were wondering why I deleted some information from this article, the lists of information were unnecessarily detailed, and the trivia (in the "statistics" section) was unreferenced. For more information, please refer to the following policies and guidelines: Verifiability, which states the importance of referencing information, No original research, which explains why original research does not belong in the encyclopedia, Trivia sections, which provides guidelines on avoiding trivia sections and integrating the information into the article instead, and Wikipedia is not a collection of indiscriminate information. I don't like it that much though. Like I know what you're doing but we should at least keep the scoring. The scores are important. However all the records can go. However the scores and dances should still be here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.243.210.16 (talk) 11:57, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

While I appreciate the work that went into compiling the lists of the scores and dances performed, it is an unnecessary level of detail. This isn't a fan site, but an encyclopedia. The info here should be more along the lines of how the show is produced, its ratings, etc, than a list of every dance and score everyone has ever received. A lot of the deleted information was original research -- that is, synthesis of other material (such as ranking the dancers from all the series against each other) -- or was unreferenced or someone's personal opinion (such as most of the material in the "Controversy" section). All edits on Wikipedia should comply with the policies of the encyclopedia, hence why that information, although interesting, doesn't belong here. Hope that helps. Somno (talk) 05:07, 16 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
So you're saying if we have references we might actually get to keep the scores? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.243.210.16 (talk) 17:14, 16 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
No, not the scores -- the stuff that was in the Controversy section. The scores do not belong, per [[Wikipedia is not a collection of indiscriminate information. Somno (talk) 00:19, 1 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I know! If it's one of the top shows in all of Australia, how about we make individual articles of it? I mean the British and American have articles for select seasons. Why not this? I even consider it to be one of the best of all of the international versions, and I'm involved with a lot of them. So what do you think? unsigned comment added by 69.243.210.16 (talk) 10:15, 30 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Expand the information in this article for each season, using verifiable information written in prose, rather than lists and tables. When there is enough here to warrant separate articles, the information can be spun out into season-specific articles. Somno (talk) 00:19, 1 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
