Biggest valley in South Asia?

edit

Does this refer to Dang or Deukhuri? In either case such a claim should be supported with outside citations so I'm removing it pending those. LADave (talk) 07:32, 21 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Now it is being claimed as Asia's second largest valley. Dang district's total area is only 2,955 km^2. Dang valley (drained by the Babai) and a Deurkhuri valley (drained by the West Rapti) are about 1,000 km^2 each, and Dang District has much hilly terrain in the Churia and Mahabharat ranges. In fact there are much larger valleys in Asia. For example Fergana Valley has 22,000 km^2. The valley of the Brahmaputra on the plains down to the confluence of the Tista is about 100,000 km^2. Whoever is claiming Asia's second largest valley needs to address these issues and provide references, instead of just making the claim with no support.
