Proposed Edits

Hi there- I have written a new draft of the article to build out new sections including professional career and early life. I have also tried to eliminate the NPOV issues. I want to note that I do some work for Bloomberg and realize it creates a conflict of interest. I have acknowledge this conflict on my talk page as well as in the COI Noticeboard. My draft is saved here. I would greatly appreciate someone taking a look at it and, if deemed acceptable, implementing the changes on my behalf. Thank you!--RivBitz (talk) 22:56, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

NPOV

This article is an almost exact copy (with slight modification) of a New York City press release about Doctoroff. It's been used as early as March 2003 (page 5 of this pdf) by the NYC government and recycled and tweaked since.

As it is a press description of Doctoroff, it is not neutral or encyclopedic. Abrent23, who edited this article, is Andrew Brent, Press contact at the NYC Economic Development Corporation.

Sentences like "By focusing on making New York’s economy more diverse, its business climate more hospitable, and its communities more livable, Doctoroff has helped lead New York to its strongest economic position in decades." are filled with weasel words.

This article needs a major or complete rewrite to become fit for Wikipedia.

I agree. This is hagiography, not an encyclopedia article. PC

Agreed w the above. I wish this hagiography addresses what the Daniel L. Doctoroff's role was in tax-free bonds to build Goldman's HQ? How did Bruce Ratner, Bloomberg's friend, get around $400 mil in subsidies and tax breaks for Navy Yard project and especially how did Ratner get a permit to build 52 stories skyscraper in a low rise historic district, a few steps from City Hall? Mr. Doctoroff was a Deputy Mayor for development. Or he has nothing to do with this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.22.253.172 (talk) 17:01, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

Cleanup

As is the consensus of the previous deletion nomination (discussion is available above, this article requires cleanup. I am biased on the matter for reasons I do not wish to elaborate on. As such, I would prefer not to be the person doing the actual cleanup if at all possible. --JDCMAN (talk) 13:47, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Removal of NPOV

The article appears to have achieved neutrality at this point, so the NPOV notices should be removed.

However, if anyone has any objections to the removal of these notices (or what was removed), I'll watch this page for them. If there are no objections, I'll remove the POV tags at the top of the article in a week. --68.198.9.26 (talk) 00:03, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

More NPOV issues

Jczelusniak seems to be Judith A. Czelusniak, Global PR director for Bloomberg, LP. Uncyclopedic edits removed. --JDCMAN (talk) 18:08, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Further NPOV

Substantial amounts of copied from press releases. It reads like a testimonial. --153.104.19.125 (talk) 19:25, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
