Not accurate
editThe article says "In 1998 the Palo Alto facility was spun off and Dobberpuhl founded it as a separate company SiByte, " This is not correct. The group was still part of HP in 1999, when I worked nearby. I am not sure, but have the impression that the group did not morph into SiByte, rather the latter was a separate company. In any event, at least the date is wrong. Trudyjh (talk) 17:59, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
- Indeed, sources say SiByte was funded by venture capital, plus some later investments by networking companies during the bubble. I think 1998 is right for the founding, just the "spun off" is not used properly here. That is, some former DEC people were also involved at SiByte but it was more of a competitor than an investent of HP. Will try to match sources better. W Nowicki (talk) 18:31, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
