The article said:

The Danielson Famile is a Christian praise band that has recorded a handful of CDs, which have the dubious distinction of a lower amazon.com sales rank than Webb Wilder's worst album.

I have removed the bit about their "dubious distinction". From amazon.com, the sales ranks of their records are:

  • Tri-Danielson-Alpha: 125,045
  • Tri-Danielson-Omega: 138,519
  • Fetch the Compass Kids: 70,288
  • Tell Another Joke at the Ol' Choppin' Block: 84,024
  • Tri-Danielson, Vol. 1 (Alpha): 105,596
  • Tell Another Joke On The Ol' Choppin' Block: 149,365
  • Tri-Danielson, Vol. 2 (Omega): 106,802
  • A Prayer For Every Hour: 231,045
  • Prayer for Every Hour: 267,458

There seems to be some duplication of titles there, but I'll ignore that for now... For Webb Wilder, we have:

  • Hybrid Vigor: 35,138
  • Doo Dad: 375,949
  • Town & Country: 80,206
  • Acres of Suede: 58,916
  • It Came from Nashville: 68,876

As you can see from that, Fetch the Compass Kids does better than Town & Country, and all of Danielson Famile's works do better than Doo Dad. This may be a misleading artefact of however amazon.com works these things out, but I don't see how the numbers support the claim. -- Oliver P. 22:14, 21 Aug 2003 (UTC)

You know they have their own record label and people can get the CD's from there? Who cares about amazon ratings. That's not what wikipedia is about. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.248.150.234 (talk) 17:32, 5 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hmm. I didn't realize Doo Dad was even listed on Amazon. But then, Acres of Suede is probably their worst album, not Doo Dad. In any case, it was an inane comparison. I myself actually think Webb Wilder himself falls short of being encyclopedic, but few others seem to agree. Kat 16:42, 22 Aug 2003 (UTC)

I'm still not convinced that they are outsider musicians. It remains to be proven to me. For one thing, they seem to make fairly normal music, and are actually rather popular. sugarfish 16:47, 23 Aug 2003 (UTC)

I just created a stub for Daniel Smith (musician). I did this out of annoyance. The link to Smith, producer of Sufjan Stevens 2004 Seven Swans album linked to Daniel Smith who died in 1818. Perhaps it would be better to redirect here?MrFizyx 18:10, 29 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Danielson is not a praise band. Never was.

I added a bio category, organized the albums into a category, added what label each album was on. Added more comprehensive links. Included the Official Danielson site since that is back up and working again. Added the new 7inch vinyls that came out in March. Overall, I think that the page looks better. Still needs a picture of the Famile though.

Thanks to the person above that removed all of the lies and slander about Danielson. C&R 22:00, 14 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

I find Danielson rather bland and their lyrics mediocre, much like most of today's Christian pop. They really have and say nothing to make thenm noteable..Williamb 08:45, 26 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

If you don't like them then why are you on their talk page saying stuff about them? Don't you have better things to do then to write about a band that you don't even seem to like? And what's the point of writing this on the talk page anyway? I thought this page was for writing about contributions to the article...

I have to agree with william. Plus the whole god-band thing just turns me off. PrettyMuchBryce 05:21, 25 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

So we have two people complaining about how they don't like Danielson. This has absolutely no relevance here; contact the band and complain to them. --nkife 01:19, 5 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

This could become progressively post-modern if we have a discussion page about people talking about how people don't like the band that we are all talking about. Apologies for being verbose. It IS quite interesting that one would make the effort to visit the Wiki page (and add to the discussion page) of a band that they don't like. It may well be exceedingly 'strange' to do this to such an obscure band (although 'Ships' has just made them 30 times less obscure). And while it (needlessly?) fills the Internet with more aggravating substance, perhaps it's an interesting example of our need to dwell on what we don't like (almost) as much as what we do. Behaviourally (and I know I'm sounding increadingly pretentious here), we have that destructive element in us that (for example) loved to go to Korn chat rooms when we were 15 and USE CAPITAL LETTERS TO TELL PEOPLE HOW UNCOOL AND SHIT THEY WERE. Perhaps it's some artifact from early ideals of omnipotence. I apologise for this possibly pointless Freudian conjecture, but it perhaps satisfies my Wiki input need.

P.S I quite enjoy Ships. And verbosity. But I can see how it annoys people. --User:Sleepy_boy_on_the_tracks 01:09, 20 August 2006 ---

Bass pop

edit

What the heck is this "bass pop" nonsense? I've never heard the term, and a google search yields one mention - wikipedia. I don't believe it. ikes 03:37, 15 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
