Dantavakra was a cousin of Krishna and ally of Shishupala. He was killed by Krishna and not Sahadeva. In fact, Dantavakra and Shishupala were the third avatars of Jaya and Vijaya, the gate keepers of Vishnu's Vaikunta, who were cursed by the four Kumaras for preventing them from entering Vishnu's abode. The other two avatars were Hiranyaaksha - Hiranyakashipu and Ravana - Kumbhakarna.
