wrong party.

edit

the page speaks of her belonging to the democratic party---that doesn't exist. I would think the the party is "Democrat"Rvannatta 00:19, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Democratic is correct, follow the link to the Wiki article, or the Dem's own website from the URL on the Wiki article. Aboutmovies 00:23, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Should we add links to subscription-only sites? The only people who can access the stories here are those with a Multnomah library card. (I found the story on the Clackamas County Library system.) Is there a more generic URL we can send them to? --Esprqii 01:05, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Esprqii, I use the NewsBank/Multnomah Library system very heavily, but I am mystified by it. Some of the URLs seem to be available without logging in, while others are not. I have not been able to discern any kind of pattern (maybe some publications allow it, but others don't??) Anyway, I suppose that killing the links for those that don't work is probably the right thing to do…I selfishly would rather they stay in there, for my own reference, but of course that's not really a reason to keep them in an international encyclopedia. CURSES on the Oregonian, though - not to mention other 4-bit newspapers like the S-J - for not maintaining previews of articles on their own site!!
Another option, I suppose, would be to link to The Oregonian's own subscription-based archive. At least that gives people the option to buy the article, if that's worth it to them. I dunno. I've had it up to here with this issue, and don't see a clear solution.
A question - does the Columbian article show up OK for you without logging in? -Pete 01:27, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Not through the link you provided, but I can see the preview here: http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P1-3942490.html (Google News Archive rocks!) --Esprqii 03:21, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
I don't know if it would help, but just let me know if you need me to check out the links with the Chemeketa (Marion & other counties) Regional Library system... Katr67 01:37, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
