Similarly, DCCP is intended for applications that do not require features of SCTP such as sequenced delivery within multiple streams.

I fail to understand what advantage this reduction will convey.

Links section -- aren't the two Linux kernel links pointing to the same project? The sourceforge link redirects to ghostprotocols anyway.
