Neutrality

I put that template up because I'm assuming that there are dating coaches who do the same service for women — there's no need for Wikipedia to be exclusively male-oriented. — Lenoxus 09:53, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

By and large, most dating coaches work primarily with men, given that this is the group giving the greatest demand. There are some female dating coaches (that is, dating coaches who are female and/or cater to a female audience) - for instance, Double Your Dating has several ebooks for women.

I'm going to edit this article because I have studied many different dating coaches, male and female. A correction about Double Your Dating is that it's a brand for men by David DeAngelo Communications. "Catch Him And Keep Him" is an ebook, audio and DVD program produced by the same company featuring a different spokesperson: Christian Carter. The person behind Double Your Dating is David DeAngelo, also pseudonym. Anyway there are many established dating coaches who have been written up in the news media so I will be citing several notable sources. ultraman 17:50, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

They do, it is highly widespread usage of the phrase in commonplace media (i.e. multiple directors (and/or other people involved in the production of a film) found this worthy of noting). Mathmo ^Talk 10:10, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

Is there much controversy about dating coaches? My only beef with them is that they tend to charge some high rates. You could say the same about most counselors/therapists/psychiatrists/etc., though. The downside to this particular kind is that it probably wouldn't be covered by insurance. Captain Zyrain 00:34, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

"Transmission" section

that is weird, probably could look through the history to find out when that happened. I don't recall such an edit being made to change it like that, but there have been big gaps in my watching on this page. anyway, lets change it to methods/technique/whatever. Overlap with seduction community

I was thinking that the content about forming meaningful relationships might go here, while the content about getting laid within seven hours of meeting a chick might be better placed in seduction community. I quite like the loose line you draw, I'm not sure we'll see much overlap if we stick to that :-) I also think keeping in mind that this is an article about coaching and not tips, stories, and seminars would also help. -- SiobhanHansa 01:41, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Well, it seems to get muddied because a lot of dating coaches also conduct seminars. It's kinda like how CPAs don't just do audits; they also do taxes, consulting, payroll, etc. So if you have an articles about Certified Public Accountant, it will probably end up touching on those subjects. It's a new site that appears to have "certified" only 3 dating coaches. Since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia this doesn't seems like a particularly notable thing to put in the article without external verification that it is actually a significant aspect of the dating coach world. -- SiobhanHansa 01:31, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Pictures of dating coaches, and dating seminars?

Does anyone have any photos of dating coaches that we can use (i.e. public domain, permission etc.)?

I can't find one for Erik von Markovik, and it would be good to get some non-seduction community, and female dating coaches on this article I think. DRosin (talk) 15:15, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

LoveSystems

Unfortunately I seem to be getting into an edit war about the bias towards Love Systems in this article which editor Handrem keeps reinforcing. • The picture of Adam Lyons is copyrighted by NBC Miami. It is not tagged with copyright and is not part of public domain. I agree that images would enrich the article, but please obey to the Wikipedia rules. Handrem (talk) 17:27, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
  • You can use pictures that are of free license only, which includes public domain photos but also if you are creator of the image or the images are websites such as Photobucket, Flickr, and so on and you have the permission of the owner to republish the photos. Stigma

The passage There is evidence that the stigma against dating coaches is weakening. Both the recent film Hitch (featuring Will Smith) and the reality TV show The Pick-up Artist indicate a growing awareness of the presence of dating coaches in society and their function. is a non-sequitur - just because people become more aware of something, it dosen't follow that any stigma reduces.Autarch (talk) 17:50, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
