Rhythm guitar versus "co-lead"

edit

Dave Mustaine is the co-lead guitarist for Megadeth. I have followed the band since their first album, and seen them several times. His lead work is all over the latest album, and he still plays lead live on stage. He should be consider the co-lead guitarist, not the rhythm guitarist. 108.7.66.133 (talk) 18:43, 23 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

@108.7.66.133 if you look at the sheet for most of the songs you'd see that Dave often plays backing rhythm during Marty's, Poland's, and Kiko's solos. There are exceptions such as Hangar 18, When, and etc but he is generally regarded as a rhythm player. That's why he's on rhythm guitarist lists, not lead guitarist ranking lists. 20:52, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
Everybody including Mustaine himself categorize him as a rhythm guitarist, albeit an unusual one. See "Dave Mustaine names himself as one of the 'fantastic four' of rhythm guitar" as an example. Binksternet (talk) 12:37, 26 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
