Talk:Dave Thompson (comedian)

Content removed

edit

I removed a considerable amount of content from this article, since it wasn't about Thompson but about the Teletubbies, and about developments long after he left the show. That material doesn't belong here (and in any case, it's already in the Teletubbies article). This is supposed to be a biography; now, having removed the off-topic content, it looks rather thin, so if anyone has any sources or material about Thompson himself, please add them to the article. @Robofish, I partially agree with your removal of the content, however the link has to be made that many of the criticisms of the show were related to a character performed by Thompson. It's somewhat difficult to disentangle the two. --Salimfadhley (talk) 00:14, 11 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Notability tag removed

edit

I've removed the tag. I do not think this is warranted given that he has been the subject of reliable secondary sources. I think the principle - once notable, always notable applies here. I'd be happy to discuss this if you disagree. --Salimfadhley (talk) 00:18, 11 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

His filmography section needs to be update and some info needs to be deleted. First “ Down the Back of the Sofa (2017)” and in his “Film” section needs to be deleted, because his filmography section on IMDb has no film credit of him in that role, therefore it needs to be deleted. Plus, his role as himself in Screech Owls needs to be capitalized from “himself” to “Himself”. 73.61.19.232 (talk) 19:17, 3 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Partly done: I've fixed the capitalisation, but imdb does credit him in that role. Volteer1 (talk) 20:03, 3 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Oh ok, thanks for giving me the heads up about that credit. My mistake. 73.61.19.151 (talk) 21:09, 3 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

I meant he wasn’t an official voice over actor in animated television shows is what I meant. Yes, he was the suit performer and voice of Tinky Winky, I’m saying he was not an official voice actor in animated shows is what I meant. His voice actor occupation needs to be removed. The term “Actor” already covers both his live action and voice work. 73.61.19.244 (talk) 20:52, 3 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Is there by any chance if someone could restore his infobox comedian info back in the infobox again? Because I mistakenly deleted it by accident a while back and changed it back to infobox person by mistake here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Dave_Thompson_(comedian)&diff=985760796&oldid=984522542. I was gonna fix it back again but unfortunately the article got protected until January of next year, could anyone restore this back again please? 2600:1000:B06E:587:F0FF:5541:51E0:A764 (talk) 00:08, 4 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Not done. The proposed revert basically brings back the |medium= and |genre= parameters, but I see no mention of either of those inside the body of paragraph and no sources backing this up. Could you provide WP:RS to back up the two parameters?  Ganbaruby! (Say hi!) 01:17, 4 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Interview with Dave Thompson on The Pod Delusion (2012)

edit

The source for a recently deleted section of this article was an interview with Dave Thompson recorded in 2012 on The Pod Delusion, a now defunct podcast. Normally I would just revert the deletion and add in the missing source, however I was the person who conducted the interview, so on this occasion I feel it would be better for another editor to make the change. Would anybody be willing to do this? --Salimfadhley (talk) 19:10, 3 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
