@GeoWriter: I don't understand the edit summary in the removal of a description of a blog as a "must-read" for laypeople. Although the exact word wasn't in the source -- it actually said "anyone" -- laypeople is implicit in the recommendation to readers of a community newspaper. Is the problem that this could be seen as representing an academic journal or something? That seems unlikely to me and I think the original description is better than no description. ☆ Bri (talk) 16:49, 12 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
In the sentence that I removed ("a "must-read" blog for laypeople interested in geology"), I don't have a problem with the use of "layperson" or "anyone". I have a problem with "geology". I removed the claim because the cited source does not support this - it only supports "anyone interested in further acquainting themselves with Whatcom County’s landscape." The source's claim was inappropriately exaggerated in the text of this Wikipedia article. I think no description is better than an incorrect description. Also, it seems to be only one reporter's personal opinion, which I think does not merit special mention here. GeoWriter (talk) 17:32, 12 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Dave Tucker (geologist) → Dave Tucker – This is one of two "Dave Tucker" articles on enWikipedia, the other being Dave Tucker (rugby league), which is a mere stub with 0 views most months. Pageviews as well as length and references will indicate this is a clear PRIMARYTOPIC for this name. The reason I open an RM instead of BOLDly moving to Dave Tucker is because he is likely not the primary topic for David Tucker as a whole (not just "Dave"). If this is moved, there should be a hatnote for disambiguatioon at the top leading the the dab of Dave Tucker. BhamBoi (talk) 21:49, 13 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Weak oppose. While the geologist certainly does achieve more pageviews than the rugby player, his views are still very low in absolute terms (6 average daily pageviews since the article was moved to its current title on 25 November 2022). Thus, I don't feel that the geologist has a sufficient lead in pageviews to be considered the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. That said, a hatnote is probably a good addition regardless of whether this move goes through. ModernDayTrilobite (talk • contribs) 15:45, 15 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
