Moved Zavala
editMoved Zavala to paragraph about Burnet becoming President. My feeling is that since this is a biography of Burnet, the intro paragraph should probably be about him. Overall good to mention Zavala, however. We could use a page on him. -- Decumanus 05:07, 6 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Pronunciation
editHow was his name pronounced? Burn-it or Burr-net?—Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.25.158.149 (talk • contribs)
Everyone I've met pronounces Burnet's last name Burr-net, with the accent on the second syllable. Methychroma (talk) 07:18, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
It's BURN-it, durn it. Learn it. At least that's how the town in CenTex says it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:6000:E7C1:DE00:E1BA:4773:793E:2E35 (talk) 01:10, 11 July 2016 (UTC)

The photo in the article is NOT him
editI strongly believe that the photo in the article under "Early public service", included here, is not of him.
The picture that is used in his infobox is one of many portraits of him, a better quality version of it included here.
With that portrait in addition to the one in article in mind, I would like to show this photograph here.
As you can see this is identical to his appearance in almost all portraits of him, and definitely all ones of era. A version that, although is of lower quality, shows more of the surrounding area, can be found lower down on this webpage.
This photo I am presenting comes from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission as you can see in the first instance of it, in contrast to the false one currently on the article which comes from the Center for American History at the University of Texas at Austin.
I think all things considered, the photo "of him" currently in article was definitely mislabled at some point. As such I think the photo in article should be removed, and replaced if the actual photo can be made out to be free use. ArtVDiaries (talk) 23:10, 23 December 2021 (UTC)
