Controversy Section

edit

I've deleted the nonsense about Healy talking about the Irish famine in a post-match interview. Quite frankly it is absolute pish. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.70.177.63 (talk) 15:55, 17 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

"Sir" nickname

edit

Should some mention be made of his nickname among N. Ireland fans of "Sir" David Healy, despite "only" having an MBE? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.233.114.82 (talk) 09:28, 6 August 2008 (UTC) Also is it worth adding that the song "Away in a manger" is sung by the Northeren Ireland fans in his honour? "...The stars in the bright sky shone down where He...Lay! Healy! Healy!" Graemec2 (talk) 08:52, 24 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

edit

Just wanted to say that Healy never attended St Columb's college. He went to Down Academy high school Surely that picture is of Gary Kelly rather than David Healy! I am doing Healy's Caps and Goals so do not delete please —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.136.14.240 (talk) 18:46, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Killyleagh

David is from Killyleagh, not Downpatrick. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.29.221.215 ([[User talk:{86.29.221.215} (talk · contribs · WHOIS)|talk]]) 22:02, August 22, 2007 (UTC)

Their is a problem at the Azerbaijan Game which he missed —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.77.51.210 (talk) 18:56, 27 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Games he missed/Players scored with him

edit

These two sections seem a bit listy to me... Paticularly the latter, which is also unclear - is this a list of players who scored in matchs Healy has scored in, or players who got assists for his goals? Either way its unclear and not paticularly helpful. --Pretty Green (talk) 18:27, 28 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

What i edited on this article was the players who scored other goals for NIR and their carrer with the national team beacause i want a list to se which other players who scored for NIR —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.76.16.200 (talk) 18:01, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

OK, but I don't see why that is here. This article is about David Healy, not about players who have scored for Northern Ireland. Presumably the details of all of these players' goals will be on their own articles: if not you could add them there.
Alternatively there may even be scope to create a new article with such informaiton, but on here it looks sloppy. --Pretty Green (talk) 08:49, 8 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Why is the Sun not a valid source?

It is on innumerable other pages, so why not this one? — Preceding unsigned comment added by MyStruggle (talkcontribs) 10:22, 23 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

WP:RS states "Articles should be based on reliable, third-party, published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy" - not the case of any tabloid newspaper, especiallywhen it comes to living people. GiantSnowman 10:28, 23 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
So this source cannot be used on any page which realtes to living people? MyStruggle (talk) 00:33, 24 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
Personally, yes. For wider consensus/comment, I would advise posting at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard to see if others agree/disagree with me. GiantSnowman 09:32, 24 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
