The result of the move request was: Not moved. This politician is unlikely to be the primary topic for this title. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 14:07, 26 April 2017 (UTC)
David Monson (North Dakota politician) → David Monson – Sole subject of Wikipedia biographic entry who bears this exact name. The Utah politician is known as David Smith Monson and David Monson is, as of this writing, a redirect to him. There is already a hatnote at David Smith Monson and another hatnote atop the North Dakota politician's page would suffice. Another alternative would be the creation of a disambiguation page. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 07:04, 12 April 2017 (UTC)--Relisting. Yashovardhan (talk) 05:50, 19 April 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose. Both are named David Monson. Whether David Smith Monson was usually called that, middle name and all, I don't know. Probably not, but even if he was, people are often going to type "David Monson" to look for him, I'd warrant.
- There's a case for making "David Monson" be a disambiguation page... Whether David Smith Monson is the primary topic for "David Monson" I'm not 100% sure, but he probably is -- he was the lieutenant governor of a state and a congressman, and the other guy is only a state rep. But I'm not voting on that question, only on the question of moving David Monson (North Dakota politician). If original nominator, or anyone, want to make "David Monson" be a disambiguation page, they can just go ahead and do it. Herostratus (talk) 04:29, 26 April 2017 (UTC)
