"The Howler?"

I followed Robinson's career from his Navy days have never heard him nicknamed thusly. I think someone with an axe to grind put this in. A google search of "David Robinson" "The Howler" yielded only Wikipedia and sites that use Wikipedia information. I have removed this nickname. 17May06

Class Act

That was a well-made biography on David Robinson--- i wish they would make a highlight film/dvd for him... so kids can see what real role model looks like !

Agree, excellent profile of a great player/person. Funnyhat 06:37, 7 May 2005 (UTC)

Carver Academy

I've created a stub for the Carver Academy. If anyone knows about the school, please expand it. If there are no takers, I will likely expand it to a point. Thanks! EWS23 19:01, August 17, 2005 (UTC)

I think this man will never get the credit he deserves from fans or the media, because he was such a good man. I mean if you look at his career, this guy has every single individual accomplishment in the NBA, but rarely do people mention him as a great, even though he obviously is. If some punk had half as many awards as Mr. Robinson did, he would be the new face of the NBA. What have McGrady, Lebron, and Iverson really accomplished? Nothing except that they're extremely talented young men, but these guys are glorified. The funny thing is that I think the Robinson fans like myself seem more bothered than Robinson himself...he doesn't care about all this...he just loves God and that's all that matters to him. God bless him.

What's he doing now?

Is he working for the church?

The Website about his foundation doesn't have much info.

Is Robinson still part of the Navy or naval reserves? And does anybody know what his current (or final) rank is? I seem to recall him making Lieutenant Junior Grade, but can't find any documentation for that. --EngineerScotty 22:18, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

Never mind, I found a reference and will add to article. --EngineerScotty 22:24, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

Quotes

on trash talking
"If you beat me, you beat me, but you aren't going to beat me with your mouth."

on success
"I think any player will tell you that individual accomplishments help your ego, but if you don't win, it makes for a very, very long season. It counts more that the team has played well."

on credit for his success
"I can run. I can jump. I can block shots. I can dunk. But I can't take pride in that. I'm successful because God gave me the ability."

on respect
"Yes, it's important that I have good numbers, and I'm well-respected as a player. But I think it's more important that I'm respected as a man."

Page needs some cleanup

This page has some good information, but it reads like a fanpage.--Hypebuster (talk) 10:10, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Church of Christ

There seems to be some worry over the CoC category addition in this article. The AP has several articles about Robinson being a member of the CoC and even a "minister at large". I fail to see the problem with this category tag.— Preceding unsigned comment added by HullIntegrity (talkcontribs) 00:59, 14 October 2014‎ (UTC)

It's not worry. It's Wikipedia policy. Rather than repeatedly reverting, would you consider actually READING WP:BLPCAT and add a citation to one of those articles in the Wikipedia article? There may be a thousand articles about his religious affiliations and activities, but that means nothing until it is actually sourced in the article. Also please read W:V. Thank you. 107.15.192.226 (talk) 01:11, 14 October 2014 (UTC)
I found nothing about the denomination. I'm removing the category. If someone can find a reliable source about his denominational affiliation, please cite it in the article and restore the category. Otherwise please do not restore the category, per WP:BLPCAT. 107.15.192.226 (talk) 00:56, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
I also couldn't find an explicit source on Robinsin and CoC. I have added Category:American Christians instead. Feel free to readd CoC cat if it is cited in the article.—Bagumba (talk) 01:17, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for actually following policy! A refreshing change on this talk page. 107.15.192.226 (talk) 01:26, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
